*THE CARIBBEAN PREMIER LEAGUE MATCH 5- JAMAICA TALHAWAHS VS BARBADOS ROYALS 2023 PREVIEW*
*THE BUILD UP:*
One side coming on the back of a big loss to the St Lucia Kings whereas the other coming off a 11 run win. There’s alot to look forward to, as these two sides are all set to clash in the fifth game of this years CPL. The Royals were humbled last game with a bowling performance to forget and looking at the scoreboard pressure, they could never really get going with the bat in hand getting dismantled for a 147 total on board.
The Jamaican side were happy with the process and got the result. On a good track, they batted with positivity with King leading the way with an outstanding 81 off 53, he would have hoped to get better with time as the innings progressed but it lay the platform nicely for the lower order batters. Imad and Chris Green with 3 and 2 wickets respectively then shun in style in the latter half with the left armer getting some grip and capitalising on it. They seem to be moving along nicely which is another reason why this clash could get us up on our feets.
*BARBADOS PROBABLE XI:*
Rahkeem Cornwall, Kyle Mayers, Alick Athanaze, Kevin Wickham, Rovman Powell (C), Jason Holder, Donavon Ferreira (wk), Nyeem Young, Qais Ahmad, Joshua Bishop, Obed McCoy
The most experienced bowler in the the side won the POTM award in the first T20I against India and he picked up four wickets in the encounter against Saint Lucia Kings. His variations could come in handy against the powerful batters in the Jamaica lineup, especially in the lower middle order. He is the man which Barbados would be banking upon as they search for their maiden win of the season.
*JAMAICA PROBABLE XI:*
Brandon King (C), Kirk McKenzie, Shamarh Brooks, Amir Jangoo (wk), Raymon Reifer, Fabian Allen, Imad Wasim, Chris Green, Mohammad Amir, Nicholson Gordon, Salman Irshad
The Pakistani duo of Amir and Imad Will be up and running to prove their class on these shores. While the latter did turn up last game and showcased why he’s rated so highly, Muhammad Amir gave a middling performance which was forgettable. The veteran with tons of experience in leagues all around the world will be eyeing a comeback and make sure the Barbados top order is wrecked early. The form of King could prove to be the game defining factor with the two sides locking horns soon.
