Preview:
The first match of the series was a complete Bangladesh domination over the touring Sri Lankan side. The Srilankan side showed enough composure but the collective effort was missing. The defeat margin of 33 runs may not reveal the actual story. Had it not been the blistering cameo of Wanindu Hasaranga’s 74, the island nation would have suffered a crushing defeat. With the series on the line, expect the Lankan Lions to pull up their socks and provide a better fight.
Pitch Report:
As the 2nd match will be played on the same pitch, it will somehow follow the similar trend. The pitch tends to get slower with time and the extra pace offered by the bowlers helped the batsmen to play their shots. The spinners would be again be effective as the pitch would play comparatively slower unless a fresh strip is provided. Also, there was very less dew in the second innings of the match thus allowing the spinners to bowl well.
Weather Report:
Dhaka is under the radar of a thunderstorm “Yash” which is supposed to gain force from tomorrow. There may be a rain curtailed match for tomorrow. If not expect the conditions to remain less humid than the 1st ODI.

Key Observations from 1st Match:
1. There was no initial movement for seamers. Excess pace helped the batsmen to play their shots.
2. Spinners found it easy to bowl in both the innings as the pitch provided a bit of turn and was slow. Also, no dew in 2nd innings allowed the Bangladeshi bowlers to execute their plans well.
3. Isuru Udana did not use his change ups and slower balls to good effect but Mustafizur Rahman was brilliant with his cutters. He would be a potent weapon if he plays tomorrow.
4. Bangaldesh has a good depth in their batting order but strike rate was an issue. Can expect Afif Hossain to bat up if situation demands so in last overs.
5. The Srilankan spinners lacked discipline unlike the Bangladeshi counterparts who executed their plans well. They might tempt in to bring Akila Dananjaya ahead of Sandakan.
6. Gunathalika prefers the ball to come to his bat. So does the other Srilankan batsmen. Thus, Taskin Ahmed was taken to cleaners. Bangladesh would prefer to exploit this weakness again.
